Granite Countertops Description

Hi,
I recently had Granite (http://tanbrown.org) Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) tops installed, and (http://maplered.com) there are quite a few, what I would call, "chips" in the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) .  I can actually stick my fingernail into them.  Some of them are a little larger (possibly the size of a pencil eraser) and (http://maplered.com) they almost appear to have just a top layer missing (they're rough to the texture).  I was told by the people who installed the Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) tops that all that has to be done is for them to epoxy the spots, sand (http://maplered.com) and (http://maplered.com) buff them, and (http://maplered.com) they'll be good as new.  I was wondering if this were true?
Thanks,
Cynthia
